Eric Schaer is a recognised expert with over 20 years of experience in international finance and private investment, advising on over €2billion of transactions. He has a particular expertise in structured finance and has led investments in natural resources, fintech, and education. These have included arranging financing for various corporate and private acquisitions and refinancings. Although based in Azerbaijan, Eric has worked throughout China, SE Asia, GCC, CIS, and East Africa.
Prior to focusing in these regions, Eric assisted in developing, revitalising, and managing next generation technology firms. This has included managing several successful acquisitions, including turnarounds of distressed businesses. He served as a Director of a leading private investment and consulting firm specialising in financing and acquisitions of software services and development firms, and both domestic and “near-shore” technology outsourcing businesses.
Eric was the founder of a technical consulting firm that provided professional services to the private and military sectors throughout the US, Latin America, and Europe, which was later sold to a private investment group based in Greenwich CT for whom he subsequently worked in various management positions.
Eric supports President Clinton’s Millennium Foundation and was previously chosen as an Ambassador for the Foundation’s New York event. He has served on various advisory boards including: Chairman of the Latin American Chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, Microsoft Advisory Council, Board of Directors of COMDEX Latin America.
